Taking ages to initialize the index

Hi,
Is this because I’m in the free plan that it’s taking so much time for index initialization?
Its been more than 30 mins and I’m not able to connect the app to the index because of this super slow process.

We are investigating an issue affecting the creation of new indexes in the eu-west1-gcp region. Other regions are unaffected, as are existing indexes. We encourage customers to create indexes in another region, if feasible, for the time being.

I’m having the same problem. Looks like there is some kind of outage / partial outage. See this link here: Pinecone Status

Thanks for the updates. This is my first time using pinecone and coincidentally the outage happened today itself. So I thought the free plan seems to be super slow or something…
