Hi, I currently use Pinecone as the vector database in my application, but one of my customers has requested that their data be stored on their existing GCP account. At the moment, I use Pinecone Cloud, so the data is hosted on Pinecone’s servers, if I understand correctly. Is there an on-premises solution available, or any other workaround to deploy Pinecone within their GCP environment to ensure the data remains within their cloud?
Hi @developers. Welcome to the Pinecone forum!
You’re right that Pinecone is available as a managed service only. There’s no on-prem or cloud-prem option. However, Pinecone does offer security features such as customer-managed encryption keys (CMEK) and private endpoints. Would such such features remove your need to deploy in a customer’s account? Both are AWS-only right now, but if you’re interested in discussing your use case further, I’d be happy to connect you to a product manager on our side.
Best,
Jesse
