AWS Marketplace Asking for Credit Card

We tried spinning up PineconeDB on AWS Marketplace. It is still asking for a credit card number. As you can imagine, no employee in technology wants to risk getting a personal bill for this software when we’ve already authorized billing via Marketplace. Is there a way around this?

Thanks for reaching out. When signing up through the marketplace, a second organization is created (accessible through the project selector). We are working on improving this experience.

Hi @TuringNYC,

Make sure the Pinecone Organization you’re in is one that says “AWS Linked.” Any projects in that organization will be billed through AWS, but if you’re working in other organizations they may not be.

You can navigate your list of Organizations by clicking the dropdown menu in the upper left corner of the console.

Thanks for the response. w/r/t “Any projects in that organization will be billed through AWS, but if you’re working in other organizations they may not be.” – but do we still need to add a credit card? You can imagine that no one in a low-level developer role is going to put down a person credit card, is there any way to avoid putting down a credit card?

We just went thru a multi-month approval processes with finance to have this billed thru the AWS Marketplace, and we’re confused on whether we also need a company credit card in addition to that?

Greetings,

I subscribed to the pinecone through the AWS marketplace.

I was then prompted to complete the registration by clicking the Set up your account hyperlink.

This brought me to the pinecone login page. I then proceeded to login with my work account. Following logging in, I am greeted with a screen under the Index tab saying “Page not viewable without selecting a project.”

I am not sure what to do here. If I click the org dropdown, I see this:

There is no AWS Linked organization anywhere. Any ideas?

I tried to include multiple screenshots but the forums only allow me to embed one image.

hi,

I am just following up to say that I have figured this out.

I think the first time I clicked the Set up your Account hyperlink, I used my github account instead of my work email.

I now can see AWS Linked Org when I use my github login.

Thanks y’all.
